N.H.S.(National Honor Society)

  
Eligibility Requirements:
Membership qualification requirements are set forth in the Preble High Chapter’s by-laws.  These standards include:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Sophomore candidate-36 or more documented volunteer hours.
  • Junior candidate-40 or more documented volunteer hours.
  • Leadership and Participation for Sophomore-5pts., juniors 6 pts.  Minimum points earned in at least two (2) different high school activities.
  • Three (3) teacher/staff references of character.
All of the above must be completed by the set date when the“National Honor Society Activity Information Form” is given to the eligible student in February.
 
Description:
The National Honor Society (NHS) was founded in 1921 to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy.
 
Yearly Requirements: 
They will be monthly meetings and participation in activities/events throughout the school year.  Members must log 25 volunteer hours each year and participate in a minimum of three events.  Maintain 3.5 or above GPA.
 
Procedures for Joining:
Students must complete the application packet within the time frame provided during their 10 or 11th grade year. Students must have a3.5 cumulative GPA to receive the packet.  If interested email Mr. Pannier at [email protected].
