Eligibility Requirements:
Open to all students who are planning to attend an institution of higher learning after graduating from Preble.  It is preferred that these students have, or are working towards a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher. 

Description:
MAC Scholars is a program to bring people together, stretch out of our comfort zones, work with others, and encourage each other to do well in school.  We hope to motivate and support students of color already in Advanced Placement (AP) and college prep classes, and to increase the number of students of color in these classes and continuing on to college, with the ultimate goal of closing the achievement gap.  Another goal is to initiate conversations about race and diversity. MAC Scholars seeks to promote diversity through community and school events.  We volunteer in The Hive at Preble once a month, have guest speakers, do diversity activities, go on college visits and sponsor the Preble Talent Show. 

Time Commitment:
We meet every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Listen to announcements for location of meetings.

Procedures for Joining:
All students are welcome to join at any time by coming to a meeting after school on a Wednesday or emailing Ms. Amy Olson-Guillén at [email protected]. Register on the Preble website under the Activities tab. Click on the Online Registration and complete the information required.
