Today’s Fun Fact: Owls have 3 sets of eyelids.

Art Club: Art Club will be meeting Thursday, April 21 in room 185 from 3:15-4:30. We hope to see you there.

Day of Silence: Day of Silence, April 22nd, is a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies all around the country—and the world—take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools.

Started in the mid 90’s by two college students, the Day of Silence has expanded to reach hundreds of thousands of students each year. Every April, students go through the school day without speaking, ending the day with Breaking the Silence rallies and events to share their experiences during the protest and bring attention to ways their schools and communities can become more inclusive.

Here at GBAPS our students will be demonstrating by taking vows of silence for the day, some wearing pins, bracelets, buttons, or temporary tattoos. Many are sharing their reasons for taking the vow on sticky notes, card templates or social media. Some GSA students are organizing opportunities for participating students in their schools to 'Break the Silence' after school.

If you want to participate in Day of Silence fill out this form:  Preble Day of Silence 2022 (Advisory teachers–please post link in classroom) OR stop by 185 after school Wednesday & Thursday to get your bracelet and pledge card.

Dungeons and Dragons Club: D&D Club will not meet next week Tuesday due to Mr. Hinkel’s involvement in the play. We will skip next week and D&D club will meet again on May 3rd.

FFA Meeting:Come join us for the FFA Meeting today Wednesday, April 20 at 3:05pm in room 187.  Topics include: FFA T-shirt order, FFA Plant Sale, Teddy Bear Toss...etc. We look forward to seeing you there. Contact Mr. Vader with questions [email protected]

Greater Green Teen Leadership Chamber: Have you ever had something in your closet that you just don't wear? Well, students from Preble are participating in the Greater Green Teen Leadership Chamber and are hosting a clothing and hygiene drive from April 20th through May 2nd. Boxes will be located in the Main Office, Security Desk, Gym Lobby, and outside the Auditorium for students to place their gently used items in. The collected items will be sent to the Brown County Foster Home and the New Hope Homeless Shelter to benefit people in need. This is a great opportunity for students to give back to the community and the help would be greatly appreciated.

ICSC Intent-to-Run Form (grades 9-11):  Intra-City Student Council is hosting elections for the 2022-2023 school year. If you would be interested, print out this intent-to-run form or pick up a copy in the Main Office. This has to be filled out and turned into the Main Office by 3:00 pm this Friday, April 22. You do have to get signatures from teachers, peers, and your Associate Principal, so plan accordingly. Then we will be hosting elections next week, so check your email for the Google form.

This year we will be doing an “ICSC Campaign Wall”. So if you are interested in designing a campaign sign/poster to be hung on the “ICSC Campaign Wall”, you must complete the sign/poster and drop it off in Mrs. Enderby’s room (room 149) by this Friday. Make sure the sign/poster is appropriate for school. Elections will be held next Wednesday, April 27.

If you have any questions, please send Mrs. Enderby an email ([email protected]).

Preble Boys Tennis: Preble boys tennis earned a 6-1 conference win against Green Bay Southwest Tuesday. Bentley Tustaskone earned the first singles win of the year with seniors Jack Gannon and Chou Vang starting the doubles sweep. Next match is Thursday at Sheboygan North

Senior Ball: Seniors, Senior Ball tickets will go on sale next week for $35 per student.
