Academic Decathlon: Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon team for their outstanding finish at last week’s state competition. They finished 3rd in Division 1 and qualified for the National competition for only the 2nd time in school history. All 9 team members contributed to this success: Sam Hoefs, Kylee Dorner, Adam Brunner, Marissa Blazer, Kova Bronader, Payton Wartenberg, Sean O’Leary, Ian Hoppe, and Abbey Mommaerts. A special congratulations to Ian Hoppe who placed 3rd overall in the varsity division and earned a bronze medal in science, a bronze medal in social science, and a gold medal in speech. The team will compete at the end of April.  

Black History Month Wisconsin Role Models: 

Book Club: Don’t forget that Book club meets tomorrow to discuss the book Dear Martin. We hope to see you there. 

GSA: GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) will meet this Wednesday, March 2nd in 185. Everyone is welcome. Class code: rvempyf 

National Honor Society: The Preble High School National Honor Society will be having its monthly meeting tomorrow, March 1st at 7:05 a.m. in room 197, also known as the Band and Orchestra room.  All members should attend and we will discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and the application process to retain your membership for next year. Please contact Mr. Bader with any questions.


SkillsUSA: We will have a brief meeting on Tuesday, March 1st after school in the Metals shop to finalize details for the State Competition in Madison coming up in April.  If you have any questions please let Mr.Berndt know.


Solo & Ensemble: Congratulations to all Preble musicians who participated in the WSMA High School Solo & Ensemble Festival here at Preble on Saturday! Out of 196 events from GBAPS, 75 were from Preble. 59 students performed at a level that earned them a *1 which qualifies them for the State level competition in May. 

Thank you to all the music students and National Honor Society students who volunteered to work for the festival, and to all the teachers who let us invade their classrooms on Saturday. Thank you from the music department for your support of the arts at Preble!


Spring Play: Cast and Crew  Heads, please check your emails today for slight revisions to our practice schedule. Reminder to Crew Heads that we will meet on Thursday, March 3rd from 3:10-3:30. 

If you are interested in being a crew member for our spring play - Romeo and Juliet, please stop in to see Mr. Schuh in room 123. He will get you the Google Classroom form. 

If you want to be on the stage, we are looking for students for non speaking ensemble roles. Not a huge commitment, but the opportunity to display your talent to friends and family. If interested, please see Mr. Schuh in room 123.

Student Services:  Early College Credit Program (ECCP) & Start College Now (SCN)

The deadline to apply for classes taken at UWGB, NWTC or St. Norbert College during the Fall 2022 semester is tomorrow, March 1st. Reach out to your counselor with questions or for application materials and turn in to Student Services. This includes the application to participate in the CNA program at Preble. 


Scholarship Event: Reminder that tonight we will be holding our Scholarship Event from 5:00 - 7:00 for students and families in the LMC. You’ll hear from CollegeReady (formerly Scholarships Inc), the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and NWTC regarding their scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors. This is a great opportunity to hear from our community partners and get direct sup[port in completing applications for scholarships that have provided significant educational funds to our Preble students in the past. Check in with your counselor for more information!

Track and Field: While the track and field season begins next week Monday, there is still plenty of time to join.

Preble track and field welcomes athletes with a variety of goals from those seeking a fun, team environment, to those seeking to improve their fitness for other sports, or those who have goals of competing at the highest level.  

Track and field also offers an event for all different types of athletes from short sprints, to jumping, hurdling, throwing, distance, or even pole vaulting.

If you are still interested in joining track and field, please reach out to Mr. Marcelle ([email protected]) Mr. Pierquet, Mr. Boockmeier, Mrs. Herzog, Mrs. Capelle, or Mr. Peotter throughout the school.

Yearbook: All staff and students: This Wednesday, March 2nd, is yearbook photo day! What does that mean? Each extra-curricular group will have their picture taken in the auditorium to be included in the yearbook. Each group and the time of their picture will be announced at the beginning of each class period, and the schedule will be posted around the school in various locations. Please check to see when your group is scheduled! The final schedule will be posted on Tuesday morning.
