(Story continued from Friday)

As you ascend the stairs to the third floor, you are face to face with a set of double doors. A pale blue light shines from beneath them, just like the one hanging above the tower which brought you here in the first place.

“There’s something on the other side,” one of your party members says.

With a heavy boot you kick in the door, flooding the hallway with light emanating from the rune-covered floor and walls. On the wall directly opposite you is a painting featuring the young woman whose bedroom you found earlier and her parents. The father has a long, pointed beard and a military uniform. Just below the painting stands a man wearing the same uniform, but his hair is white, skin is gray, and he moves like a skeleton.

A pitched battle ensues as you and your party seek ways to limit the demilich’s power. You shatter a mirror, nothing. Then you take aim at his spellbook with a flaming arrow. As the paper crumbles and turns to ash, so too does the lich’s frail body, and the blue light fades from the runes etched into the floor and walls.

“What was he doing?” an ally asks.

“Nothing good,” you say. “We should report back to the king, let him know the tower’s taken care of.”

Musical: T-3 days until Sister Act’s opening night! Did you know that the lead character, Deloris Van Cartier (a.k.a. Sister Mary Clarence) was partially based on a real nun? For the original 1992 motion picture, screenwriter Paul Rudnick visited the Regina Laudis Abbey in Bethlehem, Connecticut, to meet Mother Dolores Hart. Hart had been a Hollywood actress, singer, and dancer, starring in movies such as Where the Boys Are and King Creole. Though she left the industry to become a nun when she was just 24, she’s a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to this day.

Visit https://sites.google.com/a/gbaps.org/preble-music/musical to purchase your tickets before they’re gone! Only $6 for Students and Staff with GBAPS ID. Going to be out of town, or have a relative who would like to see the show but can’t make it to Green Bay? There’s a Video on Demand option too!  $7 per screen or $20 for a family to watch together. We hope to see you at the show!
