Today’s Fun Fact: Baby blue whales grow 200 pounds per day. Blue Whale calves grow 200 pounds per day for the first year they are alive. They can move at a brisk pace of five miles per hour when fully grown, but can get up to 20 miles per hour if need be. They can also hear up to 1,000 miles away in the ocean.

Anime Club: Anime Club will have its next meeting on October 5th. We will have a session to talk about cosplay tips and tricks, show off some of our creations, and discuss dressing up for Halloween. There will be more details on the Anime Club Google Classroom as we get closer to the meeting date.

Food Truck: Today, Friday, October 1st, 5 food trucks (The Dough Shoppe, Minzo’s Kitchen, Mai’s Fresh and Delicious Egg Rolls, The Gourmet Corn Truck, and Caribbean Cruiser) will be at Preble High School from 10:30 AM - 1:15 PM during each of lunch periods. This event is being organized by the 6th Hour Business Principles class.

Girls Cross Country: Coach Haller would like to congratulate the girls cross country team on their races last night at the Pulaski Invitational.  Out of 17 teams, the JV finished 2nd led by Gabrielle Haller 1st, Melana Webber 6th, Ellie Kothbauer 10th, Brianna Kraynik 12th, and Lola Dax 13. The varsity also finished 2nd led by Elise Smith 6th, Hailey Novitski 17th, Emma Dornbush 25th, Ava DeBaker 27th, and Hannah Smith 29th. The girls placed high compared to a lot of teams from our conference with many finishing with their fastest times of their careers!  Great job team!

Congratulations to all who made Homecoming Court!! We will have a brief meeting today after school outside the Main Office. Send Mrs. Enderby an email if you have any questions.

New Scholars: All NEW Scholars grades 6-12 will have programming on Monday, October 4th right after school. Be prompt and meet at the main entrance and look for the coach bus that will take students to NWTC! Drop off time is at 5:30pm. Contact Ms. Amanda Garcia with any questions.

Pre-Order Homecoming T-Shirts: Homecoming is next week! Don’t miss out on your homecoming t-shirt. Come to the Main Office to pre-order a t-shirt. They are just $10. The deadline to pre-order is Wednesday, October 5th.

Spirit week - To kick off spirit week, we have America Day. Let’s see that red, white, and blue on Monday to show your school spirit! The hall hunt for Monday will be the American flag. So if you see a picture of an American flag in the hallway, grab it and take it to the Main Office to redeem your prize.

Dance Tickets - Tickets will be sold Monday through Friday next week for $10. You can purchase your ticket by the ticket booth (near the Auditorium) during the lunch hours and in the Main Office after school. Be sure to bring your school ID. Please try to avoid waiting until Friday to purchase your ticket as that can be a busy day.

Homecoming Parade : The parade is next Friday at 3:45 and is taking a new route this year! To check it out, either enter a float in the parade or sit to watch the parade on Skyline Dr. Get some friends together to make a float. Applications are in the Main Office. We encourage clubs and sports to design a float and each grade as well! Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 floats. Show your Preble Pride spirit!!

Cookout - The cookout will be outside by the Courtyard on Thursday during the lunch hours. Join your peers for some brats, burgers, bounce houses, games, music, treats, and fun!! Be sure to bring some cash!!

Window Decorating: Do you like to draw and would you like to get an early start to the Homecoming week? If so, stop by the Main Office TODAY after school to paint some windows! Each grade will be assigned certain windows to decorate near the main entrance. This is a great way to show your school spirit and to welcome students for Homecoming week!
