Preble Hall of Fame

Criteria for Nomination

  • The nominee for the Preble High School Hall of Fame must be a graduate of Preble High School and be from a class that graduated at least (5) years prior to nomination.  Also eligible are the Preble High School Athletic Program personnel for whom the alum requirement is waived.
  • The nominee for the Hall of Fame must have set standards of excellence in athletics in one or more of the following:
  1. Athlete:  Athletic honors achieved.  Example - awards at Preble High School, district, regional, or national honors.
  2. Coach:  Outstanding success in the field of coaching.
  3. Athletic Prominence:  Post high school accomplishments in the field of athletics.
  4. Supporter-Great contributors to Preble Athletic Program.

Recommendation and Selection

  • The candidate may be recommended by former coaches, former athletes, Preble faculty, and Preble alumni, or Preble supporters.
  • Nomination forms must be requested from the Athletic Director's office and completed no later than April 30 of the year prior to the next induction.
  • The Athletic Director will form a selection committee of five made up of two alumni who were athletes at Preble High School and/or former coaches, one administrator, and two athletic program staff members.  The Athletic Director will not count as one of the 5 committee members.
  • The alumni members of the selection committee will be appointed to three terms on a bi-annual basis.
  • The Athletic Director will serve as the committee facilitator as a non voting member.
  • No more than 5 inductees per year.

 


Induction to the Hall of Fame

  • Two plaques will be made for each inductee.  One will be presented to the inductee and the other will be permanently placed on the Hall of Fame.
  • Inductions will occur on an annual basis in the winter, alternating between 1st game/match girls basketball, boys basketball and wrestling as the schedule allows.

 


Funding and Donors

  • Donors to the Hall of Fame may be recognized on the Wall of Champions in the Founders area.​
