Brown County Teen Leadership
You’re invited to the auditorium on Wednesday, February 21st during the last 25 minutes of your lunch period.  Come hear the sophomores tell you about leadership opportunities through the Brown County Teen Leadership Program. It will be a great way to get involved! If you have any questions, please come to the Student Services Office. 


Disc Golf Club
Do you enjoy joining school clubs? Well, disc golf club is, as the name implies, a school club and you can join it.  The meeting is Tuesday, February 20th after school in Room 141.


ICE BEARS GIRLS HOCKEY WINS REGIONALS
The girls hockey team had a big 7-1 win over the Cedarburg Lightning to advance in tournament action.  The next game is Tuesday at 5:30 at the Fond du Lac Warbirds ice arena in Fond du Lac.  Wish your favorite Bear good luck in the sectional semi-final game!


Forensics
All team members participating in Sub District tomorrow, we will have a short five minute meeting after school in Room 125 to discuss tournament rescheduling in case of school cancellation due to weather. If you can not make it, you need to see Mr. Schuh before you leave school today. 


GBU Boys Swim Team
On Saturday, the GBU boys swim team placed 10th all around in the state WIAA swim meet in Madison! The Medley relay team of John Gahnz, Kaiser Neverman, Benedict Janowski, and Kaen Baxter took 8th place at state.  Kaiser placed 4th in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 100 Fly.  John Gahnz placed 14th in the 200 IM and 13th in the 100 Back.  The 400 Relay team of Benedict Janowski, Kaen Baxter, John Gahnz, and Kaiser Neverman placed 12th! Congrats on a great season!! See you at the banquet on  Monday, February 26th. 


HOSA
This weeks HOSA meeting will be only for members who will be competing at state in April.  It is important that you attend so we are able to get you ready for the test or event that you signed up for.  We will meet Tuesday, February 20th after school in the library.

Information Technology Academy
All 9th-grade students, this Wednesday, February 21st, at 1:15 pm in the library, please come hear about the Information Technology Academy from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Check your email for further details.   If you have any questions, please come to the Student Services office. 


Math Team
Math team students, our 4th math meet is tonight, Monday, February 19th at Green Bay West.  Teams are posted outside Room 237. Check in with Mr. Schwedrsky by 6:10 pm.


National FFA Week 
February 2018 is Career and Technical Education Month in Wisconsin.  A special shout out to all the students who work on skills in Career and Technical Education here at Preble.

As part of Career and Technical Education Month this week is National FFA Week.  Here are a few important facts about the Green Bay Preble FFA.  Members of the Preble FFA partner with many businesses and organizations within our community.  A few of our community service partnerships include the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, The Bay Area Humane Society and this coming Saturday, February 24th for the 19th Year we will partnering with the Green Bay Gamblers as part of the Annual Teddy Bear Toss.  Through these great partnerships like the Green Bay Gambler Teddy Bear Toss, our Preble FFA members work on important leadership and teamwork skills to better serve our community.

As part of National FFA Week we want you to know the National FFA started in 1928.   According to the Wisconsin Agribusiness Council and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce  Development,  in 2018 there are over 400 different  types of careers in agriculture.  The mission of the National FFA is to help all students who are FFA members develop Premier Leadership, Personal Growth and Career Success in the Agriscience/Natural Resources Industry.  


Show Choir
Congratulations to our show choirs for a great weekend at Monona Grove.  Rendezvous received first runner up in the women's division and Center Stage was 7th runner up in a deep open class field.  Megan Flood swept the female solo awards receiving best soloist in a show and winning the solo competition. 


Transition Fair
Southwest is hosting a District-Wide Transition Fair for students with disabilities.  It will take place Tuesday, March 6th, during Parent-Teacher Conferences, from 4:30-6:30 pm. Come find out what is next in high school and beyond.  Meet representatives from local organizations including NWTC, UW-Green Bay, UW-Oshkosh, an expert on guardianship, DVR, ADRC, ASPIRO, and more. There will be refreshments and door prizes. Translators will also be available.  


Wrestling
Congratulations to all the Preble wrestlers that competed at sectionals this past Saturday. The hornets were led by Kade Cummings and Anthony Balch who both finished second and qualified for the state tournament down in Madison this Thursday thru Saturday.
