Cross Country
Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams for their victories at the Shawano Invitational on Saturday.  All teams both varsity and JV won their races.

In the boys varsity race, Khalid Mohammed placed 1st, Dawson Borley 2nd, Joe Engler 3rd, Brett Litkey 5th and Josh Helgeson 7th.

In the boys JV race, Aaron Paris placed 1st, Joe Stoa, 2nd, Logan vandenbush 4th,
Alick Corbley 6th, and Frank Haanen 7th.

In the girls varsity race, Macey Lane placed 3rd, Gabby Umentum 9th, Ava Debaker 10th, 
Maggie Vandelangenberg 11, and Ashlyn Gerber 13.

In the girls JV race, Lay-a-May King placed 1st, Lexi Morales 3rd, Maya Sandoval 5th, 
Lindsay Vanegeren 9th, and Emma Antonisson 11th.

Preble superfans!  Come support your cross country teams this Thursday as they compete in the Green Bay City meet after school at Colburn Park!  


Preble FFA Breakfast-
  The Preble FFA is inviting all current and new FFA members to a welcome back breakfast this Wednesday, September 12th  from 6:50 - 7:24 am.  Please stop by Room 187 to enjoy breakfast, meet FFA members including our Wisconsin State FFA Vice President.
 
We also will be looking for FFA members to sign up for two important September activities.  We will be looking for people to help prepare for the school wide cookout during homecoming week.
 
We will also be helping with the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary Walk For Wildlife this Saturday, September 15th.


HBCU
Attention students who are interested in the possibility of attending a historically black college or university, the Green Bay Area Public School District is offering two opportunities to visit HBCU college fairs this fall. The first visit is to the HBCU Chicago Football Classic & College Fair at Soldier Field on Saturday, September 22nd. The second is to the HBCU Milwaukee College Fair at Vincent High School on Saturday, October 6th. For more information, please come to Student Services.


Homecoming Court
Students, this is a reminder that the nomination ballot for homecoming court needs to be filled out by 7:00 am tomorrow morning. If you have any questions, please email

Girls Tennis
Calling all freshmen!  The girls tennis team is looking to add a few dedicated young ladies to this year’s tennis team.  Even if you are a beginner, we would love the chance to teach you the basics.  If you are an athlete in another sport, tennis will help you become better in all the other sports.  We work on your mental toughness, eye-hand coordination, endurance, speed and agility.  See Mrs. Weuve in Room 245 (across from math lab) for more information.  New players will be accepted through the end of the week.


Girls Swimming
Congratulations to freshman, Brigitta Neverman, for breaking the GBU girls swim team record in the 100 Backstroke at the Conference Relay meet and in her first dual meet, Brigitta broke the GBU team record in the 200 individual medley as well as the Southwest pool record. What a great start for her high school swim career and for the 2018 season for GBU! Varsity: Ella Sieber got 1st in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Brigitta Neverman won the 100 backstroke as well. Junior varsity, Michaela Kihntopf won the 50 freestyle and took 2nd in the 100 backstroke. Alexis Rabas took 2nd place in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, Gracyn Holcomb got 2nd place in the 500 freestyle. Congratulations girls, go GBU!

Green Bay United had two first-place finishers at the Appleton East Patriot Pentathlon, with Brigitta Neverman, Preble, winning the freshmen competition and Annabelle Metzler, Southwest, winning the senior competition. Neverman won all five individual events that make up the combined overall time. Ella Sieber finished 5th for the freshman division and Madi Wucherer took 7th place for the sophomores. Congratulations girls, go GBU! 


Link Crew
Link Crew will be meeting after school in the LMC on Wednesday, September 12th. The meeting should be brief. All leaders should plan to attend.


Math Team
Math students, do you dream about pi and e?  Then Math Team is for you!!  There will be an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 11th after school in Room 237 at 3:10 pm.   If you are unable to attend, stop by sometime this week and see Mr. Schwedrsky in Room 237.

Powderpuff Football
All powderpuff football players, next week starts homecoming. All interested females wanting to participate in the powderpuff games, must meet this week Thursday, September 13th in the commons after school to get the necessary paperwork and information.  Players without completed forms can not participate. 


Public Safety Career Presentation 
Attention female sophomore students, a 30-minute presentation will be conducted on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 1:15pm during 7th hour in the auditorium for all female sophomore students who are interested in the public safety career fields.  This presentation will be conducted by the Green Bay Police and Fire Departments. Presenters will speak briefly about career opportunities in these respective areas. If you are interested in attending this presentation, sign up via the link that was sent to you last Friday in your school email or please see your school counselor. 


Skills USA
There will be a Skills USA meeting tomorrow in Room 151 after school.  This meeting is for anyone who may be interested in joining.


Yo Yo Club
Yes you heard right, Preble has a yo yo club! Our first meeting will be held this Thursday, September 13th after school in Room 205.  You do not need to know how to yo yo to be in the club, we will teach you everything you need to know!  Yo yo’s and snacks will be provided.  Come check us out!
