ABSS & Peer Leaders


Are you interested in having an impact on the culture and climate of Preble? Are you passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of our students? Boys Cross Country


Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on winning the Varsity and JV City Meet yesterday.  Khalid Momahed was overall city champion with 5k time of 16:29. The boys team is now ranked 6th in the state.


DECA


Students, are you interested in a challenging club?  Do you want to find out how to dominate your future and carve out a successful life?  If so, maybe DECA is for you. Please sign up in the school store if you are interested in joining DECA this year.

Drama Club


Interested in musicals and theaters?  Drama Club will be having an introductory meeting on Monday, September 25th at 3:10 pm in Room 123. During this meeting, we will be discussing our first possible trip to Chicago to see Dear Evan Hanson in the spring. If you are interested, but can not make it, please see Mr. Schuh.


Girls Tennis


The varsity tennis team won a close 4-3 match with Bayport yesterday.  Earning wins for the Lady Hornets were:


#2 Singles Mai Lee Vang

#4 Singles Kaylyn Wiater

#1 Doubles Mai Vang and Mai Nou Vang

#2 Doubles Taylor Wagner and Renae VandenPlas

The JV also earned a victory with a convincing 4-2 win over Bayport.  Congratulations to the entire tennis team on a well deserved win!


HBCU


Attention students who are interested in the possibility of attending a historically black college or university, the Green Bay Area Public School District is offering two opportunities to visit HBCU college fairs this fall. The first visit is to the HBCU Chicago Football Classic & College Fair at Soldier Field on Saturday, September 22nd. The second is to the HBCU Milwaukee College Fair at Vincent High School on Saturday, October 6th. For more information, please come to Student Services.


Homecoming


Students, next week is the start of homecoming week! to kick off the week, Monday is Jersey/Uniform day, so dress up in your sports jersey or uniform. The hall hunt for that day is a packer jersey. So if you see a picture of a jersey in the hallway, grab it and take it to the main office to redeem your prize.





The homecoming dance is next Saturday, September 22nd from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm and the theme is Under the Stars. Yes, very romantic, you won’t want to miss it! Homecoming tickets will be on sale all next week, during the lunch hours and after school, for just $10. They must be purchased during the week, as tickets are not sold the night of the dance. If you are bringing a student from another school to the homecoming dance, guest pass applications are due to the main office by Wednesday, September 19th at the end of the day.


Float applications for the parade are in the main office if you would like to participate in next week’s homecoming parade. Teachers and students this is a reminder to sign up for the door decorating contest. The top three classes will earn a prize!


Lastly, this is a reminder to students that today after school we will be decorating the windows down in the main entrance. All students are welcome to come and we will be meeting outside the main office. We look forward to seeing your school spirit! Go hornets!

Preble Pals


There will be a quick Preble Pals meeting in Room 163 on Monday, September 17th, at 3:05 pm. All who are interested in participating in Preble Pals this year are encouraged to come check it out.


PSAT


Juniors, are you looking for a way to practice college admissions tests and be considered for scholarship opportunities? Then consider taking the PSAT test on the morning of Wednesday, October 10th beginning at 7:30 a.m. here at Preble. Online registration is now open and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 8th. The cost of the test is $20.00. There are a limited number of seats available, so be sure to register as soon as possible!! Registration instructions and PSAT Student Guides can be picked up in Student Services.








Public Safety Career Presentation

Attention female sophomore students, a 30-minute presentation will be conducted on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 1:15 pm during 7th hour in the auditorium for all female sophomore students who are interested in the public safety career fields.  This presentation will be conducted by the Green Bay Police and Fire Departments. Presenters will speak briefly about career opportunities in these respective areas. If you are interested in attending this presentation, sign up via the link that was sent to you last Friday in your school email or please see your school counselor.
