2020 Trip to Europe

Students, have you ever been to Europe?  Are you interested in World War II? Do you want to combine the two on a trip with Mrs. Culver, Mr. Baudhuin, and Mr. Kline?  That’s right! We’re heading to London, Paris, and Berlin (and all points in-between) in June of 2020 to study the history of the World War II war in Europe and practice any and all languages we have learned.  If you are interested, please come to an informational meeting in Room 210 tomorrow (Wednesday) after school. We will share trip details, cost, and other information. This trip is available to all current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are welcome.  (Sorry seniors).



Atonement Church

Staff and students, if you are parked in the Atonement Church parking lot today, you must move your vehicle immediately due to election voting.  



Bowling

Bowling sign up is tonight and tomorrow at Riviera Lanes. The information and forms can be found in the main office.



GBU

The GBU girl's sectional team swam to an overall 4th place finish at the sectional meet in Neenah on Saturday.  Congratulations girls, and good luck at the State meet! Go GBU!



HOSA

We will have our next HOSA Future Health Professional meeting this Thursday at 6:50 am in Room 137.


T-shirt money is due, and we will collect dues.  Membership will be closing soon so please plan to attend.   Check out the google classroom for additional information on this meeting.  

Language Arts Academic Team

What is the name of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel that is told through the eyes of the protagonist Scout and details the events of her small town of Maycomb, Alabama including the court trial of a black man who is defended by her father?  If you answered To Kill a Mockingbird, you’re right!  If you enjoy trivia questions like this than the Language Arts Academic Team is for you!  We will be meeting Wednesda,y November 7th at 3:10 pm in Room 133 to start reviewing trivia and discussing the novel titles.  Please see Mrs. Guerndt in Room 133 if you can’t make the meeting.



National French Week

This week is National French Week.  Each day we’ll have a fact of the day and a contest with French prizes.  Today’s fact: Did you know that French is spoken by 274 million people in the world?  Today’s contest: Be one of the first 3 people to tell Mrs. Culver the answer to this question during 6th-8th periods in Room 221 to receive a prize; Who is the author of the famous story “Les Misérables”?



Wisconsin Civics Games

The Wisconsin Civics Games is a high school civics competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, and is meant to promote government education in the state. A school competition will be held at Preble in early to mid January to form a team.


Preble’s team will have four participants. The regional competition is located at UWGB and will be held the week of February 2nd The top two scoring teams from our region will then advance to the state finals. The state competition is located at the Capitol on February 23, 2019.


Preble will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, November 8th, at 3:10 p.m., in Room 105.

Yo Yo Club

There will be a yo yo club meeting on Thursday, November 8th in Room 205 after school until 4 pm. Come and learn some tricks and enjoy some snacks!
