Boys Basketball

There will be a sign up meeting for any student who would like to try out for the boys basketball team on Wednesday, November 6th, in the small gym right after school, followed by an open gym until 5 PM.  If you are unable to attend, please see Coach Bobholz in the PE area. The boys basketball team is also looking for a manager to do game film as well as some practice responsibilities. Please see coach Bobholz if you are interested.


Chess Club

Chess Club will meet this Wednesday, after school, in Room B116. All are welcome to join us.


Dance Team

Preble Dance team had their first competition of the season on Saturday at the Hortonville Dance Invite, taking 1st place in D1 Kick, 1st place D1 Hip Hop and Highest overall score of the day, panel A. Congratulations girls!


Language Arts Academic Team 

What is the name of the horror writer whose works include such strange characters as a rabies-infected dog, a crazed nurse, and a vengeful car?  If you answered Stephen King, you’re right.  If you enjoy trivia questions like this, the Language Arts Academic Team is for you!  We will be meeting Wednesday at 3:10 in Room 129 to start reviewing trivia and discussing the novel titles.  Please see Mrs. Guerndt in Room 129 if you cannot make the meeting.


MAC Scholars

MAC Scholars will meet tomorrow after school in Room 107.  Please come by for fun and information.


National French Week

This week is national French week.  It’s a time to promote and understand French influence throughout the world.  Each day this week will have a French fact and a trivia question. Be the first to come to Room 203 during a lunch period and answer the question correctly to receive an eiffel tower keychain or a macaron cookie.  


Here’s today’s fact: French is the 2nd most studied language in the world after English.  


Here’s the trivia question: Who is the main character of the famous Broadway show,

Les Miserables, set during the French revolution?


One Act

Congratulations to the Preble Players One Act production of, “Every Brilliant Thing” that has qualified for state last week in sectional competition in Oconto Falls. They will participate in the Wisconsin Theater Festival later this month at UW-Milwaukee. Congratulations and good luck.


Any students who has not handed in candy bar money, please do so as soon as possible.

Philosophy Club

Philosophy Club will meet in Room 118 right after school. Topic of the day is “Consequentialism.” An email was sent to regular attenders if you want a preview. Join us to discuss big ideas and questions about life and meaning. 


Psychology Club

Beginning tomorrow, Preble will be starting a Psychology Club. If you are interested in all areas of psychology, from sports psychology to mental health, and experiments and surveys, then this club is the right fit for you. The first meeting will be in 

Mr. Wiskerchen’s classroom, Room 105, on Tuesday, November 5th, at 3:10 p.m. 


Wrestling

There will be a brief sign up meeting in the wrestling room after school on Wednesday for anyone interested in wrestling this upcoming season.
