Today’s Fun Fact: Your nostrils work one at a time. When we breathe in and out of our nose during the day, one nostril does most of the work at a time, with the duties switching every several hours. This "nasal cycle" is dictated by the same autonomic nervous system that regulates heart rate, digestion, and other unconscious bodily functions and is the reason why—when our nose gets stuffed up—it does so one nostril at a time.

  1. Anime Club: Anime Club will have its next meeting on October 5th. We will have a session to talk about cosplay tips and tricks, show off some of our creations, and discuss dressing up for Halloween. There will be more details on the Anime Club Google Classroom as we get closer to the meeting date.

  1. Dungeons and Dragons Club: Dungeons and Dragons Club will have its next meeting this coming Tuesday, September 28th. The meeting will start in room 132 with Mr. Hinkel and branch out from there. We will be forming gaming groups, meeting with our Dungeon Masters and fellow players, setting expectations for our games, and creating characters.

  1. Kick-to-Win: Does anyone want $200? Join your in-school credit union at the football game this Friday for your chance to Kick-to-Win! One lucky winner will be chosen to kick a 25 yard field goal to win $200 on the spot. Wonder what happens if you somehow miss? You still walk away with a $25 Kwik Trip gift card. Don’t miss your chance to win! See your in-school credit union for more information or details.

  1. Nerf Club: Today’s Nerf Club meeting has been postponed. Please listen to future announcements for our next meeting.

  1. Psychology Club: Psychology Club will host its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 28, at 3:05 PM in Room 105. Please contact Mr. Wiskerchen (arwiskerchen@gbaps.org) if you have any questions.

  1. Student Services: Juniors, are you looking for a way to practice for the ACT or SAT test? Would you like more feedback on your academic strengths and weaknesses prior to taking your college admission exam? If so, the PSAT test is for you! It is being offered here at Preble in the small gym on Wednesday, October 13th beginning at 7:30 a.m. For juniors, this test is also a qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship competition, as well as other scholarships. Students can register by following this link: https://user.totalregistration.net/PSAT/500795. Registration is open now and spots are limited. The cost of the test is $20.00. Please see Mrs. Sabel in Student Services with any questions.

Respect Our Neighbors Property

Students, please respect our neighbors property and do not litter, especially on Morrow Street and Danz Street. If we were living our Preble Pride values daily, we would be respectful and responsible members of our community.
