Today’s Fun Fact: The heart of the blue whale, the largest animal on earth, is five feet long and weighs 400 pounds. The whale in total weighs 40,000 pounds.

  1. Blood Drive: The blood drive is this Wednesday in the Auditorium! For those of you that have signed up, you will be receiving an email sometime today with your scheduled appointment time.

Just a couple things to know for Wednesday:

  • The morning of the blood drive, please complete the Rapid Pass before arriving at your appointment.

  • Get a good night’s sleep

  • Eat breakfast and drink plenty of fluids

  • Wear a short sleeve shirt

  • Bring a driver’s license, state ID, or your Infinite Campus summary report

  • If 16, bring a signed parent consent form

  1. Bowling Team: This week the bowling season started with the Boys varsity going 2-0. They had a 9-0 win over West to start the year on Monday. On Wednesday they beat a very strong Peshtigo team 6.5-2.5 in a very close match.


The Girls varsity team went 1-1 with a win against West and a loss to a very good Peshtigo team.


The JV team also went 1-1 on the week beating West and losing 4-5 to Peshtigo. 


  1. Boys Swim Team: The GBU Boys Swim Team competed in the Plymouth Invitational meet this Saturday. Taking first place was Nathan Gehm, Mikhail Neverman, Kyler Simonet, and Cayden DePas in the 200 Medley Relay, and Mikhail Neverman in the 100 fly. Placing second was Mikhail Neverman in the 100 back. Placing third was Kyler Simonet in the 100 fly and Nathan Gehm, Mikhail Neverman, Kyler Simonet, and Cayden DePas in the 400 freestyle relay. Good job to everyone who swam and good luck to the boys in their meet against Chilton on Tuesday at Southwest High School.


  1. Dungeons and Dragons Club: D&D club will meet tomorrow, Tuesday December 7th, at 3:15 in room 132. Games will run until 5:30/ 6:00.


  1. FBLA: FBLA will have our next meeting on Tuesday, December 7th after school in room 146.  We will be discussing the upcoming Regional Competition and submitting for events.  If you are unable to make it please let Ms. Porter know so we can set up a time to plan for your events. 


  1. Forensics: Interested in challenging yourself and honing your speech and performance skills? Forensics is the club for you! Forensics, a speech and performing competition, will kick off its new season next week. If your interest is in performing a compelling monologue from a play, demonstrating a new task to an audience, speaking of a social issue, or performing a text with your friends, we have the category that will match your interests. New members will meet tomorrow,  Tuesday, December 7th at 3:10 in room 123 and returning members will meet on December 8th in room 123 at 3:10. This will be our informational meeting for the season, we will begin our team practices after Holiday break. If you can not make it, or you have any further questions, please see Mr. Schuh or Ms. Horacek.

  1. Girls Basketball: Congratulations go out to the Girls JV and Girls Varsity Basketball teams for earning their first win last Friday against Manitowoc Lincoln! The JV squad took the game into overtime to win, while the Varsity came back from a three-point deficit at halftime to outscore the Ships in the second half for the win! Congrats Ladies!  

  1. Library Book Club 3: It’s not too late to join the Preble Library Book Club! Just come to the LMC and check out this month’s selection,  A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Then come to the library during your lunch hour on December 21 to talk.Bring your own lunch. The librarians will bring the dessert. See library staff for more information or to check out the book.

  1. Library Media Center Closings: Attention Students: The Library Media Center will be closed all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week for Access Testing. Advisory will be held in the auditorium. See you Friday.   

  1. Link Crew: Attention Link Crew Leaders! This is a reminder that we are meeting for our monthly meeting on Wednesday during advisory. Please report to the wrestling room at the beginning of advisory. Attendance will be taken. Leaders will be going into their freshmen advisory classes on Friday December 10th. See you there!

  1. National Honor Society: The Preble High School National Honor Society will be having its monthly meeting tomorrow morning, December 7th at 7:05 a.m. in room 197, also known as the Band and Orchestra room.  All members should attend and we will discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities.  Please contact Mr. Bader with any questions.


  1. Speed Workouts: Attention all track athletes and other off-season athletes, the first speed workout of the winter will be tomorrow after school. Meet in the area between the locker rooms by 3:15. The workout should be done by 4:00.If you have any questions see Mr. Marcelle in room 114 or Mrs. Herzog in room 107A.

An additional reminder, the winter running club meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the distance crew.  

  1. The Buzz: Do you want to know what the trendiest gifts of the season are? What about the hottest holiday movies? Check out this month's issue of The Buzz to find out! This issue includes stories about the effects of caffeine, forensics, our student athletes, a feature on a Preble alumni, Netflix movie reviews, and much more! 

There are so many new articles this month, you don’t want to miss it!
