Diversity Leadership Group

Eligibility Requirements:
Must have good attendance, no behavioral concerns and maintain good academic standing.  Members are selected by Advisor and Administration.

Description:
The goal of the Diversity Leadership Group is to teach and model tolerance, acceptance, and unity in both the Preble and Green Bay communities. Diversity Leaders come from a wide range of backgrounds, but have many things in common such as integrity, a strong work ethic, motivation and passion. Diversity Leaders are encouraged to look at different viewpoints and perspectives on race related matters. Students are engaged in exercises and activities that provide opportunities for in-depth conversations. Students research and assess data relative to the achievement gap, and develop action plans and strategies to benefit all Preble students. Students must be open to honest conversations, and accepting of different viewpoints. Diversity Leaders also serve to introduce Northern Michigan University students to Preble’s diverse community every fall and spring.
