Eligibility Requirements:
Any student who wishes to run for a position on the Student Council as a class officer must fill out an intent-to-run form early at the beginning of the school year and submit it by the deadline during the second week of school.  Students must meet academic and behavioral eligibility and have the proper endorsements in order to have their names placed on the ballot. 

Description:
The Student Council is made up of three distinct groups of students: the Class Officers (elected in the Fall), the Intra-City SC members (elected in the Spring), and the Executive Committee (chosen from within the ranks of the current Council in May for the next year).  The Council is meant to be the voice and hands of the student body, and is involved in major projects in our school throughout the school year.  Members are expected to participate in all activities. Some activities include: blood drives, school dances, field trips, volunteer opportunities, and teacher appreciation events. 

Time Commitment:
Attend weekly before school meetings, and work during study halls, lunch times, after school and weekends.  A commitment of participating in all events and activities in some way is required.

Procedures for Joining:
Students must fill out an intent-to-run application at the beginning of the school year. Intra-City Student Council elections are in May for the next year.  Both of these intent-to-run forms will be made available in the Main Office at the time of the elections. They will be voted on by their peers. Register on the Preble website under the Activities tab. Click on Online Registration and complete the information required.

Activity Time Period:
Student Council takes place throughout the school year, including one event in summer. 

Membership Limit:
Class officers have five per class; ICSC has 5 reps plus 1 alternate; the Executive Committee has 5 to 8 members
