ASVAB Career Exploration Program
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program will be given on Thursday, October 19th in the Preble LMC from 7:30-10:30 am.  The assessment is free and a follow up session will take place to review your results.  

If you are unsure what to do after graduation, this assessment could help you to better understanding your interests and strengths. Taking the ASVAB does NOT mean you want to join the military,  That is your option. 

Please sign up in the Career Center if your interested or see Mr. Pannier if you have questions. Openings still exist.


Boys Cross Country
A special congratulations to Dawson Borley on being the individual FRCC Cross Country champion after his winning performance last night with a 16:19 5k.  The boys varsity team took second place after a tiebreaker.  It was a hard fought race and we strongly encourage all students to come cheer on the team next Friday at Colburn Park for sectionals!  Joe Engler won the JV race and the boys JV team took first overall in dominating fashion.  Thanks to all JV runners  this season!


Culinary Club
A informational meeting for the Annual Culinary Walt Disney Cooking Around the World trip will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 5:45 PM in the evening in the culinary classroom. Any interested students and parents are encouraged to attend.


Girls Basketball
Any girl interested in trying out for basketball this year, there will be a meeting after school on Wednesday, October 18th in Room 105. 


Girls Cross Country
Congratulations to our girls cross country team for their success last night at the conference meet.  The JV and varsity teams placed 3rd overall.  Earning first team all conference was Makaila Weddle.  Second team all conference was Marlee Meister.  Honorable mention all conference was Macey Lane and Dominique King.  Great job ladies and good luck as we look forward to sectionals.  Coach Haller would like to thank all the runners for your hard work and efforts this season!  Go Preble CC!  


Hurricane Relief Fundraiser
Today during the lunch periods is the last day of the bake sale for the Hurricane Relief Fundraiser.  All money raised will go directly to help families from Klein High School in Houston, Texas that was hit by Hurricane Harvey.   Please help us reach our goal of $500.00.  Donations will be accepted.  Thank you from Preble’s NHS!


Language Arts Academic Team
Do you like reading classic literature?  Enjoy learning trivia about a variety of famous authors and their works?  Are you willing to read, discuss, and analyze literature from various authors?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the language arts academic team is for you! Come to the first informational meeting at 3:10 PM on Wednesday, October 18th in Room 133 and learn more about this exciting club.  See Mrs. Guerndt if you can’t make the informational meeting. 


Link Crew
Any Link Crew Leaders who are interested in helping at the first annual Preble Craft Fair on Saturday, October 28th, should please sign up in Student Services.  First come first serve!  It will be a fun event and huge fundraiser for our school!


Operation Snowball 
Operation Snowball is a weekend retreat that brings together a mix of teens from around the area to develop new friendships and show that none of us are truly alone.  We have a lot of fun while also covering some serious topics too, including drug and alcohol prevention.  Join us to meet a lot of great people, and make some really great long lasting friendships.  It's really a great weekend and you feel like a new person when you leave. Operation Snowball starts Friday, October 20th-22nd and is located at Aldo Leopold School.
 
Application fees are on a sliding scale and scholarships are available.  Please return applications to the main office no later than noon on Tuesday, October 17th. 


Somali Students
A big thanks to the Somali students who took part in the henna decorations last Friday.


Volleyball
The varsity girls volleyball team lost a tough match last night against Pulaski.  Grace Perret led the team with an astonishing 25 kills, setting a new team high along with 3 aces and 14 digs.  Dani VanDenHeuvel had 15 assists and 4 kills while Hannah Siegworth registered 17 digs.  Great job last night ladies.


Wisconsin Educational Fair
The Wisconsin Educational Fair will take place this year at St. Norbert College in De Pere.  Preble Pride is sponsoring a free bus ride to and from the event on Tuesday.  October 17th.  The bus will leave Preble HS at 6:00 pm and return at 9:00 pm.  Get a permission form in Student Services.  Sign up now!!  All grades are welcome.
