Preble High School rededicated Gauthier Family Stadium after more than a year of stadium renovations on August 23. 2024.
The stadium renovations which included was renovated thanks to community support of the November 2022 Referendum. The stadium renovations included synthetic turf multi-use playing surface and track, video scoreboard, new grandstand with occupancy for 2,261, new press box, a two-story team room and storage building, a concessions/restroom storage building, and expanded restrooms in the former concessions building.
Gauthier Family Stadium was rededicated during a brief ceremony before Preble football took the field against Oshkosh West.
Associate Director of District Co-Curricular Programming Tim Flood, Board of Education President Laura McCoy, Principal Courtney Kuehn, and City of Green Bay Parks Director Dan Ditscheit all briefly spoke.
Members of the Gauthier Family, the Prochnow Family and the Drankoff Family were also in attendance.
Work started on the field back in July 2023 and the turf and track were redone in time for some football and soccer games to be played in September 2023. Preble Boys soccer played its first game on the field on September 14, 2023, and Preble football played its first game on the new turf on September 25, 2023.
The original Gauthier Family Stadium opened in 2003, thanks to support from Tom Gauthier, owner of Gauthier Construction and a Preble alumnus from the ‘70s.
